Investiture Ceremony 2017-18



A colourful investiture ceremony of Boys’ High School (BHS) and College for the academic session 2017-18 was held with much fanfare and éclat in the beautifully decorated Middle School Hall on Friday. The Chief Guest on this solemn occasion was Rt. Rev. Collin C. Theodore, Moderator’s Episcopal Commissary, Diocese of Lucknow, Church of North India (CNI).
The chief guest was warmly received by the Principal, Mr. D. A. Luke and the Academic Supervisor, Mrs. C. B. Luke. Smartly dressed NCC cadets presented guard of honour to the chief guest.
Immaculately dressed chosen badge-holders marched in unison with pride and a sense of accomplishment. The ceremony started with a welcome address by the BHS Principal Mr. D. A. Luke. He also extended a very warm welcome to Rev. G. Daud, Secretary, Allahabad High School Society and the parents to have gathered here to witness the conferring of ranks and badges to the chosen office-bearers. This was followed with Bible reading by Ankur Jasper Moses.
A host of special songs “God will make a way…”, “Showers of Blessings…” etc. were performed by the school choir to mark this momentous occasion.
Addressing the gathering, the chief guest, Rt. Rev. Collin C. Theodore congratulated the office-bearers and said that conferring of ranks and badges carries a certain amount of responsibility. The school authorities have vested upon you the ranks and badges with the hope that you will carry out your duties with honesty and dignity. He advised them to be humble and seek God’s guidance as it will help them to discharge their duties without any fear and prejudice. He said: “You are the leaders in school, hence, you have to set an example before others to follow.” He asked them to play an important role to keep uphold the honour and dignity of the school.
He encouraged the students to be channels of peace and stressed on the importance of secularism as the core of brotherhood. He also appealed to the students to be supportive and magnanimous towards their brethern. He also said that character with universal values of truth and impartiality will ensure that each office-bearer does his work efficiently.
The College Captain, Pratyaksh Kapoor took the oath on behalf of the newly appointed colour holders and pledged their solidarity in uplifting the honour and glory of their Alma Mater.
The function came to an end with a vote of thanks by Rev. G. Daud, followed by an inspirational prayer and benediction by Rt. Rev. Collin C. Theodore and singing of the National Anthem. The function was conducted by Mr. L.A.M. French, In-charge, College Section.
