The participants who excelled at the various events and emerged as winners were felicitated for their achievements at a glittering prize distribution ceremony held at the renovated state-of-art Middle School Hall. The ceremony commenced with the opening prayer by Rev. G. Daud. Principals and representatives of the participating schools were also present on this occasion.
In all, nearly 350 students from 14 prominent schools namely, Barnes School And Junior College, St. Joseph’s College, Girls’ High School and College, Bishop Johnson School and College (Girls’ Wing), Benhur High School and College, Mary Lucas School and College, IPEM International School, Erny Memorial Sr. Secondary School, YMCA Centenary School and College, Tagore Public School, Dwarika Prasad Public School, Army Public School, Khelgaon Public School and the host BHS took part in this cultural and games fest.
On Wednesday, the stage was set for the Fancy Dress competition. The theme of the competition was "A Fairy Tale". The participants of the fairy tale pageant took us down the memory lane of the wonderland characters like `Sleeping Beauty', Grizzly Bear, `Snow White and Rose Red', `Ungrateful Dwarfs'. The participants were judged for their costume, creativity, music, dialogue, props and presentation. Each team received a deafening applause by the audience.
The next on stage event was the much-awaited ‘Fashion Show’. The students of various schools very creatively represented the `Festivals of India'. The show left the audience mesmerized and wanting for more. The gorgeous dresses and near professional cat-walking of our teenage models held the audience spellbound. The fashion show transported us into a world of colours and festivity where the participants dressed up colourfully and aptly according to nature's wonderous seasons.
The theme for Jingle this year was 'Recreating an old movie'. The participants were judged on the selection of movie and its direction, costume, dialogue, originality and overall presentation.
In the Principal's choice category, the participants of D.P. Public School presented Rajasthani folk dance "Kal Beliya", while Pratiksha Chaturuvedi and Tanushri Sarkar of BJS-Girls Wing displayed a fusion dance. Barnes School and Junior College presented a melodious song, which was highly appreciated by the audience, while BHS presented a hilarious skit on "Bhabhiji". In the special item category, Mohd. Saad of BHS mesmerized the audience with his magic show.
The chief guest Prof Tripathi distributed prizes to the winners of the cultural and games events. Earlier, the BHS Principal, Mr. D. A. Luke congratulated the winners and motivated others who could not win the prizes. In the end, the Academic Supervisor, Mrs. C. B. Luke proposed a vote of thanks. She acknowledged the tireless efforts put in by the staff and students alike to make this event a memorable one. The Cultural Captain, Utkarsh Kapoor thanked the BHS principal for providing a platform and giving an opportunity to the students to showcase their talents in this cultural and games fest. The function was conducted by Mr. L.A.M. French.
