The atmosphere inside the school was full of excitement. The fantastic turnout of parents and the pleasant weather were the perfect boost for the students. The opening ceremony commenced with a prayer by Rt. Rev. Dr. Peter Baldev, Bishop, Diocese of Lucknow, CNI, followed by the welcome address by the Principal, Mr. D. A. Luke. In his brief address, the Principal, Mr. Luke threw light on the importance of sports and games and encouraged the students to compete fearlessly with all their might but fairly.

The events began with a colourful March Past by the four Houses namely, St. Andrew's House, St. George's House, St. Peter's House and St. Patrick’s House. The marching contingent was led by Sports Captain, Divya Prakash, followed by College Captain, Saksham Srivastava, College Vice-captain, Syed Zulfiquar Ullah, Cultural Captain, Utkarsh Kapoor and Cultural Vice-captain, Shreyas Srivastava, Cultural Prefect, Tushar Srivastava, Literary Prefect Aditya Ojha. The Chief Guest took the salute of the impressive March Past. On behalf of the competitors, the Sports Captain took the oath and solemnly pledged to uphold the spirit of true sportsmanship. The Chief Guest declared the sports meet open and then followed the arrival of the torch. The ceremonial lighting of the torch was a breath taking spectacle. A team of sportsperson who represented the state in Badminton, Cricket, Football, Basketball, and Swimming carried the torch and handed over to Sports Captain, Divya Prakash, who lit the flame. The torch bearers were Aditya Mukheriee, Akash Keshari, Syed Zulfiquar Ullah, Utkarsh Kant, and Gaurav Kela.

In the Senior category marching event, Green house came first, while Yellow house came second and Red house third. In the Junior category, again Green house came first, Blue house came second and Yellow house third.

The students showcased multi-faceted talent in the forms of drill, races, tug-o-war and mesmerized the audience with their energetic performance. A peppy dance drill, “Old Mac Donald Had a Farm” set the tone for the rest of the events. In the drill, titled “Telletubbies at BHS” students of class I & 2 explored the magical of telletubby land. Colorful appearance and playful antics were a feast to watch. “Ra Ra Rasputin” by the students of class 3 & 4 reflected the spirit of Indo-Russian drills. “A Fantastic Blaze”—A drill by the students of class 5 & 6 signified the beauty and energy of sun, while the boys of class 9, in a drill titled “The Spirit of Punjab”, performed the traditional folk Bhangra dance. Class 7 and 8, in a drill titled “The Chimes of Time Cheer…it is the 155th Year!!!”, beautifully displayed the contribution of the school in the field of education and producing stalwarts, who have kept the flag of the school flying high.

As the races began, the air was filled with cheering in terms of encouragement for the young athletes, who with their grit and determination race to achieve victory and glory for their respective houses.

In his brief address, the chief guest Mr. Sheshmani Pandey praised the students for putting up the wonderful performances. He stressed on the overall development of the personality of an individual and called upon the parents not to pressurize their children for scoring high grades. In fact, they should allow them to develop naturally. Impressed with the discipline and coordination shown by the students, he praised the BHS Principal, Mr. D. A. Luke for keeping up with the high standards and taking this institution to even greater heights. 

The prizes were distributed by the chief guest Mr. Sheshmani Pandey. At the end, Academic Supervisor Mrs. C. B. Luke proposed a vote of thanks. The function came to the close with the benediction by Rev. G. Daud, Secretary, AHSS, followed by singing of the National Anthem and a gala display of fireworks.
