Founders’ Day Celebration

Boys’ High School (BHS) and College celebrated its 156thFounders’ Day with great pride,fanfare and enthusiasm on Monday. The day marked a significant milestone in the history of the school. On this solemn occasion, an impressive Thanksgiving Service was held at the historic All Saints’ Cathedral. The Thanksgiving Service was attended by Principals, teachers and students of Boys’ High School (BHS) and College, its annexe, Holy Trinity School (HTS) and Girls’ High School (GHS) and College. Rt. Rev. Collin C. Theodore, Moderator’s Episcopal Commissary, Diocese of Lucknow, Church of North India blessed the school.

Dressed immaculately in school uniform, nearly 350 students marched in unison all the way to the All Saints’ Cathedral from their respective educational institutions to offer Thanksgivings to the founders. The Boys’ High School squad was led by the School Head boy, PratyakshKapoor while the Girls’ High School squad was led by the Headgirl, VasundharaAgarwal. It was an awesome sight for the passersby and onlookers who appreciated the discipline of the students while marching to All Saints’ Cathedral.

The Thanksgiving Service commenced as the Principals of BHS and GHS entered the Cathedral to the strains of the hymn “Joyful, joyful we adore thee.” The cross bearer, Rakshit Robin and the flag bearers walked solemnly up to the aisle where they handed over the colours to Rt. Rev. Collin C Theodore, Moderator’s Episcopal Commissary, Diocese of Lucknow (CNI).  The School flags were blessed by Rt. Rev. Collin C. Theodore.

The ceremony began with the prayer by Rev G.Daud. This was followed by the reading of passages from the Holy Bible by the Principals of BHS and GHS, Mr. D. A. Luke and Rev. Dr. (Mrs.) V. Eusebius respectively.

The atmosphere inside the Church was solemn and deeply expressive of their gratitude to the Almighty for having blessed both BHS and GHS with fulfillment of their mission to serve the society by imparting quality education and churning out responsible citizens of the country. The School choir rendered melodious hymns in praise of the Almighty God.

In his edifying discourse, Rt. Rev. Collin C. Theodoresaid that it is our duty to follow the commandments of Lord Jesus Christ, which is teaching, preaching and healing and thanked the Almighty for giving the founders of Boys’ High School and College and Girls’ High School and College, a vision to establish these centres of learning. He said that the principals and teachers of educational institutions have great responsibility in instilling moral values and developing the character of the students. He said that the God has given us wisdom and knowledge through which we attain success and asked the students to thank the Lord Almighty for his blessings and his presence in our daily lives. He complimented the teachers and students for making BHS and GHS, a centre of learning where the presence of God can be felt.He called upon the students to be humble, generous and passionate towards their fellow beings and contribute their knowledge for the progress of the nation.

Impressed with discipline of the students and excellent marching, the BHS and GHSPrincipals awarded cakes to the marching squads of four Houses in their respective schools.
