The Boys’ High School and College family bid adieu to the outgoing batch of ISC (12) students in a colourful farewell function organized in the Middle School Hall. To express their gratitude and love for the seniors, a number of performances were staged by the students of class XI.
The atmosphere inside the hall turned nostalgic as the formally dressed young gentlemen entered the hall amidst clapping and cheering. The hall reverberated with excitement and anticipation as the captains of the four Houses, walked with pride and honour for one last time. College Captain, Pratyaksh Kapoor led the four house captains to handover the flags to the Principal, Mr. D. A. Luke.
The function commenced with the singing of the School Song by Mr. Joel Lawrence followed by a prayer by Joshua Samuel Lawrence. Thereafter, Pratyush Mishra on behalf of class XI delivered an emotional speech and thanked the seniors for their love, cooperation and guidance. The function was conducted by class XI students, Lakshya Kawatra and Harsh Gaur.
The fond memories of the School life were captured in the power point presentation. It threw light on the journey of students in the every sphere of their activity, be it academics, sports, extra-curricular and co-curricular activities.
The excitement in the hall reached its peak with the much awaited Band performances by class XI students comprising Manas Bhadauria, Harshit Kapoor, Udit Bajpai, Yatharth, Rakshit Robin and Yash Pandey. Thereafter, the BHS Rockers consisting of Amos Chintamani, Saksham, Shimon Alam, Vivek Gupta and Adrian Enoch Jacob set the stage on fire with their electrifying performances. Sarthak Keshari recited a heart-touching poem recounting his days in school.
Amidst cheers and thunderous applause, the Academic Supervisor, Mrs. C. B. Luke announced the titles for the selected outgoing students. These titles were awarded to the students who have left an indelible mark through their performance in academics, sports and extra-curricular activities.
The coveted title of ‘Mr. BHS’ and `Pride of BHS’ went to Pratyaksh Kapoor while Saahas Arora bagged the `Mr Runner Up’ title. The title `Neighbour’s Envy, Onwer’s Pride’ went to Utkarsh Kant (XII C), `Mr Perseverance’ to Varenya Srivastava (XII B), `Mr. Versatile’ to Aditya Mukherjee (XII A), `Mr. Wit’ to Rishabh Narain Singh (XII F), `The MF Hussain of BHS’ to Shivaji Anand (XII E), `Mr. Determination’ to Naman Agarwal (XII D), `Computer Wiz’ to Pragalbh Dev Singh (XII A), `Smart Alec’ to Tanishq Goyal (XII D), `Unity and Discipline’ to Abhishek Verma (XII E), `Michael Jordan of BHS’ Prakhar Singh (XII A), `Unity and Discipline’ to Abhishek Verma, Aritro Chakravorty (XII A), Sumit Singh (XII F),`Boys’ High School Rockers’ to Amos Chintamani(XII ), Adrian Enoch Jacob (XII ) and Vivek Gupta, `The Golden Boot’ to Utkarsh Kant, Abhinav Roy and Abhijeet Nath, `Happy Feet’ to Divyansh Tripathi, `Eloquence Personified’ to Prateek Kumar Singh and `Michael Phelps of BHS’ to Divya Prakash.
The College Captain, Pratyaksh Kapoor recounted his school days and thanked the teachers for shaping and moulding their personalities. He encouraged his juniors to follow their passion and promised to return back to his Alma Mater with glory and success.
The Principal, Mr. D. A. Luke gave a meaningful address to the ISC (XII) batch of outgoing students as they prepare to begin a new chapter in their life. Extending his good wishes to them for their upcoming board examinations, he asked them to remain focused and disciplined in their future endeavours. He said: “Our prayers and blessings are always with you and intently pray that you excel in the field you have chosen.” He added that your upbringing in school will hold you in good stead to overcome the obstacles which come on your way to success.
Much to the delight and pleasant surprise of the students and staff, Mr. L. A. M. French gave a captivating performance on a Saxophone. He was accompanied by Mr. S Nanda on keyboard. Melodious old Bollywood numbers were played by Mr French left the audience rapt and mesmerized and made this farewell ceremony all the more special.
