Oratory is the highest form of music. There is nothing in the world like a persuasive speech. Speech is the voice of the heart and Elocution is a blend of it all.
The Annual English Elocution Competition of classes IX to XII of Boys’ High School and College was held on December 2nd, 2016. The participants were judged in matter, diction, memory, pronunciation and overall impression. In all, 39 participants from class IX to XII took part in the competition to prove their merit. Of them, while 16 participants were from class IX and X, 23 represented the College Section comprising class XI and XII.
The competition was inaugurated by the BHS Principal, Mr. D. A. Luke. The Judges for the event were Mr. A. Saunders, Mr. L. French and Mrs. N. Annual Prize Day function for Junior School was held at Boys’ High School and College on Wednesday. A special concert themed “The Moppet Stagecraft” added colour and glitterati to the overall function. Dr (Ms.) L. R. St. Andrew's (Blue) House clinched the prestigious Athletic Championship Trophy in a spectacular and splendid display in field and track events at the “155th Annual Sports Meet” of the Boys’ High School and College held on its sprawling lush green field here on Friday. St. Andrew's House bagged 459 points for the top honours while St. George's (Red) House with 413 points came second. The third and fourth places went to St. Patrick's (Green) House and St. Peter's (Yellow) House with 293 and 282 points respectively to their credit. The chief guest on this occasion was Mr. Sheshmani Pandey, municipal commissioner, Allahabad Nagar Nigam. The principals of various prestigious institutions Girls' High School and College, St. Joseph's College, Mary Lucas School, Benhur High School, etc., also graced the occasion.Read more: Annual Sports Day
