Teacher’s Day Celebration

In memory of the great teacher, Dr. Sarvepalli Radhakrishnan, Teacher’s Day was celebrated at Boys’ High School (BHS) and College with great zeal and enthusiasm. On this great day, the BHS Principal, Mr. D. A. Luke felicitated three teachers, namely, Mrs. P. Sinha, Mrs. K. Agarwal and Mrs. S. Bano for serving the institution for 25 years with devotion and dedication. The teachers thanked the Principal and the school management for the honour bestowed upon them.
The students celebrated the day with the teachers in the classrooms in their own styles by putting up a wonderful programme in honour of the teachers. BHS boys bring laurels to their institution

Three shuttlers of Boys’ High School (BHS) and College Aditya Mukherjee, Shobhit Singh Verma and Devesh
Goel bagged the gold medal in the senior category at the ASISC State Level Badminton Tournament held at
City Montessori School, LDA Branch, Lucknow. They defeated the Lucknow team at their home ground in the
finals while in the junior category, the BHS team comprising Mayank Pathak, Peeyush Singh and Kartikeya
Saraswat won the bronze medal.

In all, 14 teams from different cities took part in the ASISC State Level Badminton Tournament. Ten players from Allahabad represented the city out of which six were from Boys’ High School and College. Aditya Mukerjee of BHS was the captain of the Allahabad team.

The Inter-House Commerce Quiz organized by the Commerce Club of Boys’ High School and College, was held in the Middle School Hall. Each house namely, St. Andrew’s House (Blue House), St. Patrick’s House (Green House), St. George’s House (Red House), St. Peter‘s House (Yellow House) were represented by their respective teams comprising three members.

Hindi Elocution (Class V-VIII)

Hindi elocution competition for Boys’ High School and College was held on the 29th August, 2017. Participants from class V –VIII took part in the competition keeping in mind the several factors which are adjudged during a competition, the children focused on the various aspects like voice quality, speech content and delivery standard.
Poems from famous poets were chosen by the participants. To name a few ‘Shri Harivansh Rai Bachchan’ and ‘Shri Atal Bihari Vajpayee’ were the poets whose works were learnt and well recited.
The students showed enthusiasm in reciting the poems and spoke eloquently with finesse. It certainly was an enjoyable experience for all those who participated. Poem like ‘Meri Maa’ recited by a class V student touched everybody’s heart.

Annual Declamation Contest in English (Classes IX-XII)

The Annual Declamation Contest in English of Boys’ High School and College for classes IX to XII was held on Friday, August 25, 2017 in the Middle School Hall. The aim of the contest is to motivate and sharpen the speaking skills of the students.

Fascinating performances of the participants were seen throughout the competition. The judges for the competition were Mr. A. Saunders, Mr. O Wright and Mrs. J. French. The participants were judged in matter, diction, memory, pronunciation and overall impression.
