Annual Prize Day

The Annual Prize Day function of Boys’ High School and College was held in the Middle School Hall on Friday. Prof Yogeshwar Tewari, Head of the Department of Medieval and Modern History, University of Allahabad was the chief guest on this occasion. Nearly 200 proud winners from class 6 to class 12 were felicitated for their excellence in academics, sports and games.

Exhilaration and excitement could hardly be fathomed as smiles galore brightened the faces of the Blue House children who walked away with the prestigious Study Shield as well as the Cock House Shield. They also marched away by sweeping shields in Athletics, Basketball, and Swimming. Green House proved their mettle by winning Badmintorn, Football and Cricket Shields.

The prizes and trophies presented by the chief guest are as follows: A K Das Medal to ISC topper: Ayush Agarwal; ICSE topper: Mohd Muzzammil; Best Athlete: Divya Prakash; Tresham Medal for Mathematics: Ayush Agarwal; Principal’s Medal for ISC Topper in Commerce: Harshit Agrawal; Maj Gen Rana Kapoor Trophy for Best Sportsman: Divya Prakash; Lt Shrijeet Das Memorial Cup for Best All Rounder in College Section: Utkarsh Kant; Maj Gen AJB Jaini’s Trophy for the Best All Rounder in the Middle School: Harshit Nath. NCC Senior Division–Best Cadet: Suo Aritro Chakravorty; Best Turnout: Prateek Kr. Singh; Best Marksmanship: Vinayak Kumar; Best Social Service: Amos J Chintamani; NCC Junior Division–Best Cadet: Mihir Pandey, Best Social Service: Yashraj Chaturvedi; Best Marksmanship: Kunal Mishra; Best Turnout: Vansh Airan; NCC Naval Wing–Best Cadet: Maaz Ahmad, Best Social Service: Samarth Sharma; Best Marksmanship: Shivayush Mohan; Best Turnout: Sahastranshu Chandel.

In an inspiring address, Prof Yogeshwar Tewari asked the students to be humble, for success comes to those who dedicate everything to their passion in life. Success is no accident. It is hard work, perseverance, learning, studying, sacrifice and most of all, love of what you are doing or learning to do.

He praised the management of the Boys’ High School and College for providing an environment in the school to the students to grow in a disciplined manner and become responsible citizens of the country. Perseverance is the best tool to achieve any goal in life. He asked the students not to give up but keep on trying till they achieve their goal in life. He motivated the students to let their glory shine which would keep the School flag flying high.

Addressing the students, the BHS Principal, Mr. D. A. Luke congratulated the prize winners and asked them to keep up the good work and motivated others who could not win prizes. Stressing on the importance of hard work and sincerity, he asked them to work with more dedication to achieve success.

Earlier, the Principal Mr. D. A. Luke and Academic Supervisor, Mrs. C. B. Luke welcomed the chief guest. The function commenced with a prayer by Rev. G. Daud, Secretary, Allahabad High School Society. The function was conducted by the College Section Incharge, Mr. L.A.M. French followed by the National Anthem.
