Quiz competitions are always interesting and informative which provide excitement among the students and also make them aware of current affairs. Boys’ High School and College successfully conducted the ‘Jefferson Gardner Memorial Inter House Quiz Competition’ on May 3, 2019 for the students of classes IV to VII. The competition was graced by the Principal, Mr. D. A. Luke and Academic Supervisor, Mrs. C. B. Luke.
The competition began with an opening prayer by Mr. B. Deacon. The preliminary round was held in the classes. On the basis of their performance, sixteen students were selected to represent the four house teams – Saint Peter’s House, Saint George’s House, Saint Patrick’s House and Saint Andrew’s House. The quiz began with the introduction of the participants. The rules and regulations of the quiz were explained by Mrs. S. Ansari. The quiz consisted of five rounds namely warm up round, audio-visual round, spin the wheel and choose your subject and jackpot round which was also on elimination round and the rapid fire round. The questions were interesting which engaged the students. The quiz masters were Mrs. S. Pahwa, Miss. R. Siddiqui, Mrs. Z. Warsi and Mrs. A. Bajpai.
The students showcased their brilliance by rapidly answering the questions. Though some of the questions were very tricky, the teams tried to answer with confidence. Although all the teams participated actively, the team that scored the highest was Blue House.
It was a very informative and knowledge enriching competition for the participants along with the audience. Boys’ High School and College always encourages such positive competition and hope to bring out the best in its students through such competitive events.
At the end, our Principal Mr. D. A. Luke distributed the prizes to the winners. Our Academic Supervisor, Mrs. C. B. Luke complimented the students and laid emphasis on the importance of good reading. She also proposed the vote of thanks to all the staff members and students who participated in the quiz. The event concluded with National Anthem.
